Damon Thomas has an outstanding background in local and State government, business and the Tasmanian community.

 
He is a qualified lawyer with an extensive professional background that has encompassed significant public and private sector senior executive, director and statutory roles.  His achievements have included appointments as Tasmanian Crown Solicitor, State Ombudsman and Health Complaints Commissioner and CEO of the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.  He has been a Hobart City Council Alderman since 2009 and was elected Lord Mayor in October 2011.
